Although they were both born and raised in Switzerland, Walter and Trudy first knew each other as young adults in Vancouver and married there in 1965. Walter was a mechanical engineer whose work, although based out of Vancouver, took him overseas and to the States, each for an extended period of time. Trudy was a bookkeeper, and a wonderful cook and seamstress.

Together, they were an exceptional host and hostess known for their fine entertaining.

In 2003, they moved to Vernon to make their home in the Okanagan. Here, they continued to pursue their interests of international and domestic travel, of gardening through the Garden Club, of maintaining their cultural roots through the BC Interior Swiss Club, and of entertaining family and friends.

It was their heart to give back to the community they loved.
