For Immediate Release
August 2, 2017
Vernon, BC: The North Okanagan Hospice Society is pleased to present a two hour workshop about “You are not Alone: Planning for Caregiving at Home” to be held in Lumby, Sept 5: 10 am -12 pm; Vernon, Sept. 5: 2-4 pm; and Armstrong, Sept. 6: 10 am -12 pm.
This workshop is back due to popular demand. Dr. Carole Robinson, Professor in the School of Nursing at UBC Okanagan, will lead the conversation about caregiving in the home. Family caregivers and their seriously ill family member are invited to learn how to plan for caregiving early in the illness journey using a ‘Family Caregiving Decision-Making Guide’. This is an opportunity to gather information and network with other caregivers.
Discussion includes what to expect, where to turn, who to contact when things change and caregiving becomes more challenging.
“This is an excellent workshop about understanding caregiving situations, concerns, and how in-depth caregiving can be.” (Family Caregiver)
These free workshops fill up quickly and space is limited. Registration is required by August 23. To register, call Tanya at the North Okanagan Hospice Society at 250-503-1800 Ext. 101 or email [email protected].
