The framework maps a path through 2026 and deals with five major areas of note.
1: Sustainable funding
Develop a funding strategy that considers all current sources and ensures sustainable stewardship to reach our goals.
2: Engaged and expert staff and volunteers providing excellent care
Develop staff and export programs to care givers, health care professionals and the public to facilitate better outcomes for clients and their families.
3: A palliative care service hub
Be the center of excellence in care for people with life altering illness and their loved ones along their end-of-life journey.
4: Well known in the community
Communicate and engage the community to raise awareness of NOHS services which will assist them in accessing the health system for diagnoses to end-of-life and bereavement care.
5: Robust IT system
Create information systems that will allow our staff, clients, visitors, partners and donors to fully engage with NOHS effortlessly and effectively.
“We want to engage our community in a thoughtful way, we have developed this framework, but want to hear from the residents we serve in the North Okanagan,” Lisa Mathews Executive Director NOHS said.
The input received at the public information session will help fine tune the framework.
