Vernon, BC: North Okanagan Hospice Society is celebrating Canada’s 150th Birthday by launching a new monthly donor program. The goal of the program is to gain 150 monthly donors at an average of $25 per month. A goal, that NOHS is hoping to reach by July 1, 2017.
“Canada is built on the strength of her people. Canadians develop communities with solid foundations by supporting each other in times of need,” states Ruth Edwards, Executive Director. “And, at Hospice we’ve experienced this truly Canadian style of community support over the years as we have grown our programs.”
Edwards adds, “We’re encouraging people to join us in celebrating Canada’s birthday, building on the strength of our community and supporting quality end-of-life care by joining our $25 monthly donor program. Any gift is appreciated as we understand that not all people can manage $25 per month. Funds raised will sustain our community education and caregiver support programs.”
The benefits of monthly giving are that it is very convenient for the donor by saving time and helping them manage their donations budget. The benefit to Hospice is that monthly donors provide the organization with a dependable and much needed source of funding for its outreach programs.
To help with this goal, Abakhan Vernon, Debt Restructuring Consultants has generously donated two $250 Visa cards – every new member to the Monthly Donor Program will receive a ballot in a draw for one of these $250 cards. If this individual refers another person who becomes a monthly donor, they will receive another ballot in the draw.
