Edwards Jones Team Donates $2,000 to North Okanagan Hospice Society

Vernon, BC (October 5, 2021) – On October 4, 2021, Executive Director, Lisa Matthews (far left) was thrilled to be presented with a $2,000 donation to North Okanagan Hospice Society from the Edward Jones team in Vernon which included (left to right) Les Marx, Ben Moore, Jacques Pelletier, Deanna Beaudoin and Bruce Shepherd.

Bruce shared that “we chose NOHS, as our way of giving back to the community, especially during this pandemic where it has not been easy to fundraise and support the many needs of our community. The advisors have chosen to redirect funds that may have been spent on client events, to the NOHS to help them fundraise and continue their support of essential community services.”

Bruce Shepherd, who is also VP of the Board of Directors for NOHS, opened the first Edward Jones branch in Vernon nearly 25 years ago (firm founded in 1922 and will celebrate 100 years in 2022), and is now retiring. As Bruce transitions into retirement, Edward Jones has grown to support 4 branches in Vernon and continues to have a strong presence within the community.
