REGULAR REGISTERED CARE AIDE LINE (0.66 FTE)

The North Okanagan Hospice Society (NOHS) is seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Care Aide to join our team. A regular line has become available which offers a rotation of day, evening and night shifts. This is a permanent position that is a 0.66 FTE.

Qualifications:

  • RCA/HCA Certificate
  • BC Care Aide/Community Health Worker registration (*please include your number)
  • Minimum 6 months recent facility experience caring for patients with complex care needs
  • Availability to work 8 hour day, evening and night shifts
  • Physical and emotional ability to perform duties of position
  • Enthusiasm for learning and working in a team environment
  • Ability to establish and maintain rapport with clients
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to organize and prioritize
  • Ability to operate related equipment
  • Current Food Safe Certificate
  • Current Certification in Emergency First Aid - Community Care
  • Palliative Care Certificate or equivalent training and experience in end of life care an asset
  • All staff must provide evidence that they have complied with the Province of British Columbia Public Health Office immunization and tuberculosis control programs prior to employment.

CASUAL COOK

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate casual cook to join our team of staff and volunteers. If you love to cook healthy, delicious food and have experience in a commercial kitchen than we want to hear from you.

Qualifications:

  • Culinary Arts Certification or equivalent training and experience
  • Minimum Level 1 Food Safe Training Certificate
  • Knowledge of infection control procedures
  • A current and clear Criminal Record Check
  • All staff must provide evidence that they have complied with the Province of British Columbia Public Health Office immunization and tuberculosis control programs prior to employment.
  • Valid BC driver’s license and access to personal vehicle for supply/grocery runs if needed

NOHS operates a 12-bed palliative care facility and we are a contracted partner with the Interior Health Authority. NOHS was incorporated in 1984 as a charitable organization with the purpose of supporting those with a palliative diagnosis, their loved ones and the bereaved.
